FTHOI - V.3

ROUTE - https://ridewithgps.com/routes/40431969

Gravel, rough stuff, hike-a-bike and hills.

The route will take the form of a local loop of 90km(ish) from Cardiff, made up of all the g̶o̶o̶d rough stuff in the nearby hills and commons.

From gravel to hike-a-bike, we think we have a sweet loop to share and explore with everyone.

The route will be demanding and tough in places, but hoping the no-drop & fun pace will make it accessible to anyone who fancies big day out.

This is most definitely a self-sufficient ride and not supported or ‘organised’, the idea is simply that we all meet up and ride. So with this in mind we would advise to pack enough food & water to sustain you for a good chunk of the day, as well as enough cash to cover a can of coke (to put a halt to an impending bonk) or in case you experience a mechanical & need to hitch a train home.

Bike wise we would suggest a gravel/cross bike with 35mm tyres to handle the rocks and general rough route or even a MTB if you’re that way inclined.

We will be meeting outside The Brewhouse & Kitchen, Cardiff (Mochyn Du) and heading out around 9am and finishing whenever you want, but we are sure to be having some beers on return.

Stoked to put on our first social ride with 65km (ish) of gravel, rough stuff, hike-a-bike and hills.

The route will be demanding and tough in places, but hoping the ‘shorter’ distance will make it accessible to anyone who wants to dip their toe in to the gravel/rough-stuff side of cycling.
